Kisses from the ‘Princess, Too’
by Scott on Dec.01, 2011, under Chloe, Family
As Ansley likes to say, “Your the King, Mommy is the Queen, I am the Princess and Chloe is the Princess, too.” The ‘too’ is usually drawn out about three syllables.
The ‘Princess, Too,’ has become so expressive in the last couple of months. It is amazing how her vocabulary and apparent comprehension have increased, so much. I say ‘apparent’ because she has learned to use the interjection ‘uh-huh’ in the last couple of weeks. She seems to acknowledge many of the things that you say to her with this response. It is so frequent that I have questioned if she really comprehends everything that we are saying. I have even gone as far as to try and test my hypothesis by asking absurd questions. More often than not, when I do this, I get no response, even when preceding normal questions did get a response. So, maybe she understands much more that I credit her….
Ok, the above was written several months ago, but apparently I didn’t post. Chloe is very talkative, now. She can basically say anything that she wants.
Happy Birthday – Ansley
by Scott on Mar.21, 2011, under Ansley, Family
I cannot believe that it has been over four years, now, since Ansley joined our family. It is never a dull moment in the Miller household with two little girls running around.
Ansley, Happy Birthday! I Love You, Daddy.
Chloe Elise – 11/03/2009
by Scott on Nov.03, 2009, under Chloe, Family
Chloe Elise joined our family on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 at 7:13. She was delivered during a planned c-section and weighed in at 9 lbs. and 11 ozs. and was 21 inches long.
Mom and Chloe are both doing well.
Chloe has a pretty good head of dark brown and straight hair. She has a beautiful, round head and resembles her older sister, but definitely has her own features. So far, she has been a very happy baby and is coming along well with her eating.
On Chloe’s birthday, she was visited by both sets of grandparents, her sister, two aunts, two uncles, four cousins, her aunt’s fiance and her uncle’s girl friend.
Mom and I are definitely looking forward to getting our little girl home and enjoying being part of a slightly larger family.
Thanks to all for their prayers and support and taking part in welcoming our new baby girl.

Ansley – 2 years
by Scott on Mar.15, 2009, under Ansley
Happy Birthday, Ansley. You are now dreaming after your very busy day. I am thankful for you everyday. These last two years have gone by way too fast, but I enjoy getting to see you change and become more expressive as the days pass. Mommy and I are both so proud of you. You were such a little lady at your party. I hope you had fun today and I look forward to getting to spend many hours playing with you on your new slide.
I love you, Daddy.
Snow?!
by Scott on Mar.02, 2009, under Allison, Ansley, Family
We had the privilege of waking up to an inch or two of snow yesterday morning. Ansley hadn’t seen any snow since she was a few months old. Allison brought Ansley into our room and I hadn’t even made it out of bed, but I had opened the window to see outside. The first thing that Ansley did is say, “Hi, Daddy.” She hadn’t yet noticed the strange event occurring outside. Allison prompted her to look out the window, where she said, “Daddy, what is that?” It was pretty cute and I was upset that I didn’t have the video camera rolling to catch it. This is my attempt to preserve the moment.
We managed to get Ansley all bundled up to go outside for a few minutes before getting ready for Church. Unfortunately, Ansley did not have any proper shoes for playing in the snow, so most of our time was spent in the driveway catching the snowflakes and playing with some of Ansley’s favorite outside toys, including ‘farmer’, a ride-on toy that plays Old Macdonald, and her bubble mower. I don’t think that she minded that we didn’t play in the snow. She kept saying that everything was ’dirty.’ This is also the same reaction we had at the beach. The girl does not like to get her hands, feet, or anything else for that matter covered with any foreign substance. Snow definitely fits that bill in Alabama.
Reallly…..Reallly…..Reallly…….Pop!

What in the world does this mean? If you know, let me know. This is one of Ansley’s latest sayings that we have no idea what it means or where it came from. The context that she uses it in doesn’t help in determining, either.
Cottin’ Pickin’ Pumpkins
by Scott on Oct.18, 2008, under Uncategorized
Today we made a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. The weather was beautiful and it was a nice day. Ansley really enjoyed getting to run around, see the animals, slide, go through the Hay Maze, eat some funnel cake and finally pick a pumpkin. She was being so cute. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, Ansley began repeating, ‘Punkins!, Punkins!, Punkins!’ We ended up with a 30 pound pumpkin that had to be cut from the vine. Anyway, enjoy the new gallery with the pictures. Sorry about there being so many, but I didn’t have time to edit before I exported the gallery.

Taking it easy…
by Scott on May.15, 2008, under Ansley, MBA
Ansley is 14 months old today. It is hard to believe how fast the past year or so has gone by. It has been a lot of fun, though, getting to watch her grow, learn and enjoy all of her new experiences.
I am in the middle of a break from school. I go back on the 27th of May for the first of two five-week mini semesters. I will be taking a Management course and a Managerial Economics course this summer. In the fall, I will be taking two distance learning courses in the Engineering Management department. After that, I will have three classes to graduate.
At work today, there was a shooting in my building. I didn’t even know about it until Allison called to see if I was OK. Our campus has approximately 1,500 employees and the building that I work in has eight stories and is one of the largest buildings in Huntsville. The incident appears to have been between an employee and a relative. The police arrested the suspect shortly after the incident at his apartment. The person who was shot, was shot through a door (very thick solid wood) and the bullet ‘grazed’ his shoulder. He didn’t go to the hospital immediately, so it must have been a minor injury. I guess this might have been scary if I had known it happened, but it really seems kind of surreal. Allison and I ate dinner in Madison and the Huntsville police officers that responded and caught the suspect were eating at the same restaurant. You could tell that it was not a normal day at the office for them. We saw one of the officers on TV capturing the shooter at a Madison apartment complex.
Anyway, I have lots of pictures that I need to get added to my galleries. The real holdup has been learning the tools I use to create the galleries. I am trying to figure out how to create a better template to make it go faster. I will post again when I put up another gallery.
