Chloe Elise – 11/03/2009
by Scott on Nov.04, 2009, under Chloe, Family
Chloe Elise joined our family on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 at 7:13. She was delivered during a planned c-section and weighed in at 9 lbs. and 11 ozs. and was 21 inches long.
Mom and Chloe are both doing well.
Chloe has a pretty good head of dark brown and straight hair. She has a beautiful, round head and resembles her older sister, but definitely has her own features. So far, she has been a very happy baby and is coming along well with her eating.
On Chloe’s birthday, she was visited by both sets of grandparents, her sister, two aunts, two uncles, four cousins, her aunt’s fiance and her uncle’s girl friend.
Mom and I are definitely looking forward to getting our little girl home and enjoying being part of a slightly larger family.
Thanks to all for there prayers and support and taking part in welcoming our new baby girl.

Ansley – 2 years
by Scott on Mar.15, 2009, under Ansley
Happy Birthday, Ansley. You are now dreaming after your very busy day. I am thankful for you everyday. These last two years have gone by way too fast, but I enjoy getting to see you change and become more expressive as the days pass. Mommy and I are both so proud of you. You were such a little lady at your party. I hope you had fun today and I look forward to getting to spend many hours playing with you on your new slide.
I love you, Daddy.
Snow?!
by Scott on Mar.02, 2009, under Allison, Ansley, Family
We had the privilege of waking up to an inch or two of snow yesterday morning. Ansley hadn’t seen any snow since she was a few months old. Allison brought Ansley into our room and I hadn’t even made it out of bed, but I had opened the window to see outside. The first thing that Ansley did is say, “Hi, Daddy.” She hadn’t yet noticed the strange event occurring outside. Allison prompted her to look out the window, where she said, “Daddy, what is that?” It was pretty cute and I was upset that I didn’t have the video camera rolling to catch it. This is my attempt to preserve the moment.
We managed to get Ansley all bundled up to go outside for a few minutes before getting ready for Church. Unfortunately, Ansley did not have any proper shoes for playing in the snow, so most of our time was spent in the driveway catching the snowflakes and playing with some of Ansley’s favorite outside toys, including ‘farmer’, a ride-on toy that plays Old Macdonald, and her bubble mower. I don’t think that she minded that we didn’t play in the snow. She kept saying that everything was ’dirty.’ This is also the same reaction we had at the beach. The girl does not like to get her hands, feet, or anything else for that matter covered with any foreign substance. Snow definitely fits that bill in Alabama.
Reallly…..Reallly…..Reallly…….Pop!

What in the world does this mean? If you know, let me know. This is one of Ansley’s latest sayings that we have no idea what it means or where it came from. The context that she uses it in doesn’t help in determining, either.

Taking it easy…
by Scott on May.15, 2008, under Ansley, MBA
Ansley is 14 months old today. It is hard to believe how fast the past year or so has gone by. It has been a lot of fun, though, getting to watch her grow, learn and enjoy all of her new experiences.
I am in the middle of a break from school. I go back on the 27th of May for the first of two five-week mini semesters. I will be taking a Management course and a Managerial Economics course this summer. In the fall, I will be taking two distance learning courses in the Engineering Management department. After that, I will have three classes to graduate.
At work today, there was a shooting in my building. I didn’t even know about it until Allison called to see if I was OK. Our campus has approximately 1,500 employees and the building that I work in has eight stories and is one of the largest buildings in Huntsville. The incident appears to have been between an employee and a relative. The police arrested the suspect shortly after the incident at his apartment. The person who was shot, was shot through a door (very thick solid wood) and the bullet ‘grazed’ his shoulder. He didn’t go to the hospital immediately, so it must have been a minor injury. I guess this might have been scary if I had known it happened, but it really seems kind of surreal. Allison and I ate dinner in Madison and the Huntsville police officers that responded and caught the suspect were eating at the same restaurant. You could tell that it was not a normal day at the office for them. We saw one of the officers on TV capturing the shooter at a Madison apartment complex.
Anyway, I have lots of pictures that I need to get added to my galleries. The real holdup has been learning the tools I use to create the galleries. I am trying to figure out how to create a better template to make it go faster. I will post again when I put up another gallery.
Twins?!
by Scott on Jan.09, 2008, under Family, Rachel & Robby
I talked to Rachel yesterday and she was calling to let me know how her doctor’s appointment went as her and Robby recently found out that they were expecting.
I could tell that something was up, but I didn’t know if it was good or bad. She told me that they were going to be having twins. This is exciting, funny, scary all at the same time. I think everyone is a little shellshocked from the news. It will all be good, though.
What is wierd is how many people that I know that have had twins in the last few years. I would think it to be a little rare to know more than one person relatively well that has had twins, but now I know three. One is Rachel’s best friend, Michelle, and another is the youth pastor and his wife at our Church.
It is definitely going to be an exciting/busy first half of the year for our family. Ansley will have her first birthday in March, my birthday is in February, my mom’s is in May along with Mother’s day, Father’s day is in June, our anniversary is in July and both of my nieces’ (Emily and Bailey) birthdays are in July. I hope I didn’t forget anyone. July is also the likely birth month of the twins.
This is really all that I know now.
I hear that mini vans are really cool.
Happy New Year!
by Scott on Dec.31, 2007, under Family
2007 is winding down. It has been a very exciting year. This was the year that our daughter, Ansley, was born. It has been fun watching her grow so fast. She was born on March 15th and just yesterday she took her first step on her own (she is not walking yet). She never ceases to make me a proud father as I watch her learn and discover everyday.
This was also the year that Allison and I celebrated our 30th birthdays. I thought that this would be worse than it was, but having Ansley just makes me look forward to the coming years.
We did not take any big vacations this year with the baby. We did go to the beach (Destin) with our small group and to Atlanta for a short 6th anniversary trip where we went to a Braves game, visited the new Aquarium and Coca-Cola museum.
The holidays this year were especially fun with Ansley getting to experience all the wonders of Christmas. By the time we recover from having all of the new toys in our house it will be time for her first birthday.
2008 should be an exciting year as well. I never make official new year’s resolutions, but the new year always seems to recharge my batteries and motivate me to get things done.
Stay tuned…

I am currently trying to get this site up and running. I am looking at different ways to add media to this page. I would like to be able to add both photographs and video clips. Stay tuned for updates and don’t be surprised if the page ends up looking quite different. I expect it to take a few weeks before I settle on a final design.
We are still in Birmingham visiting with my parents at this time. Christmas was two days ago, but it’s easy to want to hold on to the season for as long as possible, especially since this was Ansley’s first. She doesn’t necessarily know what Christmas is about, but she did enjoy the excitement of everything. I think
I know that she did enjoy the music and Christmas lights. It has been fun watching as she discovers new things everyday.
I know that I am jumping from subject to subject, but Muh-muh and I gave her a ‘Lion’ walker for Christmas and after just a few hours she was walking across the room behind it. We may have to hide it from her so she doesn’t learn too quickly. Oh well, either way it is fun and exciting. She can probably crawl faster than she will be able to walk for a while.
Maybe when the media ability is added to the site, I will get some pictures of her ‘walking’ behind her Lion.
